Maj Joseph Jones joined Civil Air Patrol in 2006 as the Aerospace Education Officer for a new School Enrichment Squadron, SER-GA-808. Shortly after joining, he was appointed Deputy Commander and is currently serving as the Commander of SER-GA-808. Maj Jones holds undergraduate degrees in Physics and Mechanical Engineering and a Masters degree in Engineering Management with a Minor in Software Engineering. Maj Jones holds several specialty track ratings in Administration, Personnel, Cadet Programs, Aerospace Education and Information Technology. Maj Jones is currently rated as a Basic Observer/Scanner, Ground Team Leader, Ground Branch Director, Mission Staff Assistant, Flight Line Supervisor, Skill Evaluation Trainer, and Mission Radio Operator. Maj Jones enjoys computers, flying, reading, science fiction, and CAP. Maj Jones lives in Byron Georgia with is wife Joan and their 3 daughters Ashley, Brittany and Rachel (all in CAP).
