Lt Col Dave Rickard, T-6 Academic Instructor
Lt Col Dave Rickard graduated from the USAF Academy in 1982 with a B.S. in Civil Engineering. A year later Lt Col Rickard completed Pilot Training at Laughlin AFB, TX and stayed on as a First Assignment Instructor Pilot (FAIP) for two more years. Following his tour at Laughlin, Lt Col Rickard continued teaching future instructor pilots at Randolph AFB, TX until 1988. He was then assigned to the 509th TFS in Alconbury, UK where he flew A-10’s all over Europe. There he was a 4-ship Flight Lead, Instructor and Supervisor of Flying. After Desert Storm ended, Lt Col Rickard went back to Randolph AFB and ATC to again be an instructor pilot. Dave is currently a 777 pilot for United Airlines and is living in Fredericksburg, VA with his wife Renee and daughters, Danielle and Kelsey.
